European Profile Company (trading as Thermalframe) has been successfully operating in New Zealand for more than 16 years. In 2007 we changed our brand name to Thermalframe to better reflect the vision and commitment we have to improving window performance for New Zealand homeowners. Before deciding on the Sheerframe brand of PVCu joinery, much effort went into studying the quality and performance of many different profile systems worldwide. It was important to get the highest quality PVCu as inferior products often do not stand up to the manufacturer's claims. Further, a profile which suited New Zealand building methods and applications was critical. After extensive research in U.K and Europe, the Sheerframe system was chosen for its ability to fulfill the above requirements backed by unrivalled guarantees by the UK supply company L.B Plastics Ltd. This is an independent British company owned by the Litchfield Group, well established and highly respected as a leading extruder/manufacturer of PVCu for over 40 years.
Sheerframe profiles are produced at the company's manufacturing base in Derbyshire. The high impact polyvinyl chloride that has been developed for the construction of the profile is composed of a specially formulated polymeric material called Sheerblend. Innumerable quality controls are carried out on both raw materials and profiles. Regular checks are implemented before, during and after the production process. Samples of the profiles are regularly checked on dimension, colour, temperature and uV resistance. This stringent control guarantees the exceptional quality of Sheerframe profiles.
The Sheerframe system has been subjected to the most punishing tests. Installations range from the climatically inhospitable Middle East, NW Canada and Antarctica, through to diverse regions such as the Arizona desert in the USA and the West Indies and into the homes of the very discerning Scandinavians, defying all of the elements. Here in New Zealand, the joinery was tested in 1993 to meet NZS4211:1985 in a Telarc registered laboratory and passed all the requirements of the NZ Standards. Since this initial testing, technological advancements have been made by the LB Plastics Reseach and Development team as they seek continual improvement in both thermal and weather performance of the Sheerframe range of products. Constant evolvement of the product range is driven by both legislative requirement and the increase in market awareness of the importance of thermal efficiency and weather tightness. UK/Europe have demonstrated leadership in this field and with Thermalframe, New Zealanders can benefit from these ongoing technological improvements.

Thermalframe PVCu joinery has been successfully installed from Whangarei to Invercargill, to ski lodges on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu and the Southern Alps and indeed to Antarctica.
