Aesthetics and Architecture
Thermalframe PVC windows and doors are all made to measure and are very design flexible to ensure most configurations are achievable. In fact Thermalframe window systems offer a range of exciting new designs in addition to the standard windows and doors, including Tilt and Turn, Reversible and Balcony PVC windows. For renovations, the character of older homes can remain in tact as the PVC profile reflects the charm of the original timber joinery. For contemporary homes, the profiles are modern and the functionality superb.

Superior Thermal Insulation
Thermalframe, with its four in-line chambered PVC profile system, offers the most thermally efficient window joinery system in New Zealand. The fact that approximately 40% of heat loss normally occurs through windows in both old and new homes, outlines the importance of this benefit. Dramatically reducing the heat loss by using Thermalframe PVCu windows saves money on energy bills and also eliminates the 'cold zones' around windows. Thermalframe PVCu joinery also has the ability to single, double and triple glaze. Double glazing is now by far the most popular option to combine with Thermalframe PVC windows and doors.
Double Glazing & Thermalframe - Eliminate Condensation
Condensation is usually a result of moist inside air meeting a surface cold enough to reach the 'dew point'. Making your house warmer combats condensation by keeping the inside of your window surfaces warmer. Single glazing offers little resistance to heat loss, so the temperature of the glass is usually at or near the temperature outside. Double glazing will significantly reduce most condensation on the glass because the glass on the inner pane is comparatively warm. Thermalframe houses an optimum 16mm argon filled gap for double glazed units. This is the best possible gap for thermal efficiency and using argon instead of dry air further increases the energy performance of the window. However, to take advantage of the double glazing benefit the frame material must be non-conductive. Unlike aluminium, the lack of thermal conductivity of PVC eliminates condensation on the profile completely, making windows warm and dry. The elimination of condensation prevents mould and mildew, leaving windows and your living environment much cleaner and healthier.

Weather Performance
Fusion welded profile corners and zero penetration of the bottom chord of window frames prevents any chance of 'leaking building syndrome' via the windows. Such leaks are common in New Zealand construction and costly leaks often only show up after water has destroyed framing and carpets. The new technology of Thermalframe PVCu protects home owners from this soul destroying and expensive, all-to-frequent, occurrence. Installed in the harshest of environments, the system is guaranteed to withstand freezing conditions (-40°C). The Thermalframe PVCu profile is specially formulated with added titanium dioxide for UV stability. The profile system has been installed in much higher UV levels than New Zealand such as Arizona and The West Indies for 30+ years with no signs of degradation.

Sound Insulation
Thermalframe PVCu window systems have intrinsically high levels of sound insulation largely due to the seal design. Latest advanced technology allows for the co-extrusion of the weatherseals, which are actually welded onto the frame and welded to each other in the corners to ensure maximum achievable noise elimination. These co-extruded double seals are not the normal 'push fit' seals currently supplied by other window fabricators, which allow external noise to penetrate the corners of frames. Thermalframe seals cannot shrink, nor can they fall out over the years. The extra peace and quietness experienced without the sound of the barking dog, the traffic noise, the neighbours music or the wind will be appreciated throughout the life of the building. In addition to the sealing arrangements of the window systems, very high levels of sound insulation can be obtained due to the ability to incorporate wide sealed units within standard window designs. Advice is also available on sound insulating glass where performance enhancement is readily achieved.
Security
The need to build for security is more important today than ever. Thermalframe PVCu manufacturers have taken the issue of security to heart in offering an enhanced locking system as standard on their products to deter intruders and provide peace of mind to the home owner. The top quality hardware incorporated into Thermalframe PVCu windows and doors is unrivalled in New Zealand. As standard, Thermalframe awning and casement windows incorporate stainless steel espagnolette multi-point locking devices. A tiered latching operation allows the window to be locked either completely, or left slightly ajar for ventilation, whilst still being fully secure. Our hinged doors are also fitted with a multi-point/dead bolt locking system as the norm. This ensures far superior security and maximum weather-proofing by locking the sash tightly over its entire length.
Enhanced Lifestyle
Installing this truly low maintenance, durable, top quality joinery system can free up leisure time and make your home a drier, warmer and more comfortable place in which to live. No rotten/borer ridden timbers, no peeling paint work that requires attention, no metal oxidation from the salt-laden environment, no mopping up condensation on aluminium profile or sorrow over condensation related staining - Thermalframe PVCu windows and doors maintain their good looks year in and year out. Thermalframe PVCu profile requires only an occasional wipe to keep it looking sparkling clean, enabling homeowners to relax in their home environment.

Durability
Thermalframe PVC windows and doors are designed to last the lifetime of the building. Installations have been made in New Zealand for almost 15 years without any degradation or product performance problems. Additionally, supply company of Thermalframe, LB Plastics Ltd (Sheerframe range of profiles) have been producing these windows and doors for homes, apartment blocks, hotels, hospitals, retirement villages and other buildings throughout UK and Europe since the 70's. The durability and continued weather performance of Thermalframe is second to none.
