When Sheerframe windows met a Victorian school, the result was a perfect match. In a project to replace 126 windows at Eglinton School in Woolwich, window installers Fineline worked closely with Greenwich Council to come up with a design that was almost identical to the original windows, installed when the school was built in 1885.

Sheerframe system 6000 windows incorporating concealed hinges met the criteria of the council and were chosen for the project: The windows offer clear sightlines, co-extruded gaskets and weather seals, claiming higher weather performance than conventional systems. Several of the windows feature decorative arches, further adding to the traditional styling of the building.

Sales and marketing manager of FineIine Dave Dawes said, 'Thanks to the cooperation of the staff at the school, the installation was completed on time and has considerably enhanced the appearance of the building, as well as making the school more comfortable for both staff and pupils.'
